Countdown

Countdown, a collection designed by Lorenzo Taini, is made up of small marks that form a repeating pattern. The contrasting colours, white and black, make a striking composition that remains essential in form. Countdown is a work that began in the first months of the COVID lockdown. At the time my supplier could not deliver stretchers and canvases, so I started making these large drawings on paper with a calligraphy pen. It is a dance of marks beating out the time that passes while waiting for a return to normal. A work steeped in hope. (Lorenzo Taini)
